I think we all can agree that our world is being destroyed by addiction(s). There are many different kinds of addiction such as alcohol, drugs, pornography, smoking, and a long list of many more. However, the addiction I want to address today is the addiction to SELF. This very well could be the most destructive addiction there is.
In reality, we ALL have had issues with this addiction at some point in our lives. We become consumed with self-gratification of our flesh and doing what is best for US.
The Bible is very clear about the destruction that comes along with pride. God abhors it and will not use anyone who is polluted by this addiction. Our world is consumed with SELF, and so are our churches! We have grieved the Holy Spirit with our infatuation of SELF. Our pride makes God sick, and He is clear that anyone consumed with pride will for sure have a GREAT FALL!
God will never honor pride but He did say, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” – Psalms 51:17 In 2020, let’s decrease so God will increase! If we humble ourselves before God, we will experience just how big our God really is!
